As the saying goes, if you educate a boy you educate an individual, but if you educate a girl, you educate a family, the society and ultimately the nation. In India, a boy’s education gets preference over a girl’s education. Trends also show that girls belonging to economically challenged families get married when they are extremely young.
EFL has joined hands with Niwant Andh Mukta Vikasalay, for the upliftment of visually challenged girls, to make them self-reliant and confident in all walks of life, out of them 3 students who were part of EFL’s CSR project Udaan have successfully secured fabulous jobs in Pune city recently. Each one of them have very interesting and inspiring story to share. All of them hail from small towns of Maharashtra with parents who hardly went to schools and having challenging financial background.
Company is also supporting the NGO named “Khelghar” from Pune, who is working in the field of providing quality education to students who belongs to slum areas of Kothrud.
EFL donated a generous amount to Sadhana Vidyalay. A new school was set up in a small town called Nelgunda situated in the Bhamragad Tehsil of Gadchiroli District. Though the town is blessed with natural beauty, it lacked accessibility and educational opportunities. Even after getting its very first school, the students had to walk for miles in all kinds of weather conditions to reach school. That is why we chose them to receive the gift of mobility!
With the help of this donation, the school has managed to arrange bicycles for their students. It has given us immense pleasure to see little feet paddle towards a better future!
